Spanish moss hangs from the trees throughout the south, in fact it is not even a moss, it is a flowering plant in the bromeliad family. It is great for baskets, potted plants and other crafts.
The price is for a gallon size bag full of moss, which is the approx. double the amount shown in the pictures above.
I collect, dry and clear out any sticks or debris. I do Not sanitize but you can easily do it for use in certain crafts.
THE LEGEND OF SPANISH MOSS
There is a very interesting legend that goes along with spanish moss, it goes like this..........
A Spanish soldier fell in love with an Indian chief's favorite daughter. Though the
chieftain forbade the couple to see each other, the Spaniard and maiden continued to meet in secret. The father found them out and ordered his braves to tie the Spaniard high up in
the top of an ancient oak tree.
The Spaniard had only to disavow his love to be freed, but he refused. Guards were
posted to keep anyone -- the chief's daughter above all --from giving food or water to the
poor Spaniard. The Spaniard grew weaker and weaker, but he still would not renounce his
love for the girl.
Near the end, the Chief tried to persuade him once more to stay away from his daughter. The Spaniard
answered that not only would he refuse to disavow his love, but that his love would continue to grow
even after death. When at last the Spaniard died the chief kept the body tied up in the tree as a
warning to any other would-be suitors.
Before long, the Indians began to notice that the Spaniard's beard continued to grow. The Indian
maiden refused ever to take a husband -- unless the Spaniard's beard died and vanished from the
tree. As the years went by, the beard only grew stronger and longer, covering trees far from the
Indian maiden's village. Legend says that when the Spanish Moss is gone, the Spaniard's love will
have finally died with it.

It is recommended that you use a bow stringer when stringing your bow.
Unstring your bow when not in use.
Never 'dry fire' your bow. This means shoot without an arrow. A ‘dry fire’ can severely damage your bow.
Store your bow in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat and moisture.
Never use bowstrings of a length other than specified correct for that bow.
Shoot only arrows specified suitable for your bow.
Please take into consideration that all of our bows are vintage, I describe them to the best of my ability and take care to report any damage or stress that may show on the bow but ultimately the buyer is responsible for the bow and knows that these vintage bows are sold as is.
Draw length and draw weight are the two most important things to know when ordering archery equipment.
Draw length corresponds to the arm length of the person drawing
the bow. Industry standard is 28".
A simple method of getting this number is by measuring arm span and dividing that number by 2.5.
Draw weight corresponds to how heavy the bow pulls.
The bow should not be too heavy to draw back comfortably, or too light that it doesn't offer a challenge. If you are a beginner this will be more difficult to figure out but a trip to a local archery shop or sporting goods store may help. Try different bows and talk to an expert.
If you have any more questions about these things please feel free to contact us.
All of the arrows in our shop are made to order, therefore any of them can be customized to suit you.
We can do a variety of colors, cresting patterns, feathers, nocks and tips.
Once a design is created you will need to pay a deposit of 20% of the total, this payment is non-refundable.
